US consumer price index likely edged up 0.1% in June - Unicredit
The US consumer price index likely edged up 0.1% in June, after falling 0.1% in May and as a result, the headline inflation rate will ease to 1.8% yoy from 1.9%, according to analysts at Unicredit.
“The CPI excluding food and energy is likely to have risen by a more-solid 0.2%, after the transitory factors that held the index back over the past few months have faded. Core inflation likely ticked up to 1.8% yoy from 1.7%.”
“The gap between headline CPI and the index excluding food and energy is explained by lower energy prices, which fell during June.”
